Refresher course – Working with self-contained breathing apparatus and systems

The objective of the training is to refresh the knowledge of the participants in regard to the working with self-contained breathing apparatus and systems. During this course, the safe working within the possibilities and limitations of the various systems takes priority. Part of the training is furthermore the practicing with various practical scenarios.

This refresher course is intended for persons that already have the certificate “Working with self-contained breathing apparatus and systems” of which the validity has almost expired.

Theory:

• What is breathing air?
• Respiratory physiology
• Hazards of dangerous atmospheres
• Enclosed spaces
• Personal (breathing) protective equipment
• Design and function of breathing apparatus and systems
• Limitations of the breathing apparatus
• Safety regulations before, during and after the use of independent breathing air
• Calamities

Practice:

• Preparing breathing air system for use
• Putting on breathing apparatus and use of other PPE
• Performing safety checks
• Training on the use of the breathing apparatus at a breathing practice course or at your location

1 day, including exam

9:00 - 16:00

Dräger Academy in Zoetermeer or Dräger practice course in Botlek Rotterdam. Following coordination, training is also possible at the location of the client.

Minimum age of the participant is 18 years
Valid medical certificate for suitability
The participant must be cleanly shaven (no beard or facial hair growth)
The participant may not wear any jewellery that could impede him

In order to achieve a teaching efficiency that is as high as possible and furthermore to have a sufficient amount of personal attention for the individual participants, we work with a limited group size.

After completion of the exam with a passing mark, the participant of this course will receive a certificate and a corresponding certificate card with a period of validity of 3 years.

The frequency for the following of a refresher course has been set to once every 3 years. The participant will be invited in a timely fashion for a refresher course.

The use of a breathing apparatus is included in the price. The participant must provide overalls and safety footwear himself.
